A 60-year-old model, Michele Spicer, who previously claimed she was forced out of her beach hut for being ‘too glamorous,’ now faces a suspended jail sentence and a substantial £53,000 legal bill for violating an injunction after engaging in a ‘revenge campaign’ against her neighbor.
The conflict began when Ms. Spicer clashed with residents in Goring-by-Sea, West Sussex, who accused her of ‘antisocial behavior’ at her beach hut, which she affectionately referred to as her ‘mermaid haven.’ Complaints included her alleged careless parking of an open-top Mercedes sports car and playing loud music on its radio.
As tensions escalated, Ms. Spicer became convinced that one particular neighbor was part of a plot to evict her from her beloved beachfront hut. In 2021, the local council revoked her rights to the hut, making her the first person to be evicted from a beach hut in the area in 25 years. She attributed this perceived resentment to her ‘glamorous’ looks and her Mercedes sports car, stating, “I think it’s because they’re jealous of me because I’m a model and I’m very glamorous with a sports car.”

Ms. Spicer initiated a ‘revenge campaign’ against one specific lady who left town and changed jobs as a result. The victim had been driven to wear a hoodie and sunglasses even for trips to the corner shop to avoid being recognized. The harassment included verbal abuse, intimidation, photographing, and recording the victim without consent, leading to multiple complaints to the police and two community protection orders against Ms. Spicer.

Despite these measures, Ms. Spicer continued her harassment, prompting her neighbor to seek an injunction to curb her actions. The court order prohibited Ms. Spicer from the waterfront area near her former hut, contacting her victim, visiting the gym she frequents, and generally harassing or stalking her.
Ms. Spicer’s persistent violations of the injunction led to her being brought before a judge for contempt of court. Judge Richard Pearce, in a recent High Court hearing, handed her a 24-week jail sentence, suspended for two years. In addition to the suspended sentence, she was ordered to cover her neighbor’s legal costs, estimated at £53,000.

These developments followed Ms. Spicer’s online proclamations of superiority over her accusers, contributing to the intensifying conflict and legal repercussions. The case highlights the importance of addressing antisocial behavior appropriately while underscoring the potential consequences for those who engage in harassment.
