Matthew Perry’s family gathered at his home in Los Angeles just hours after his tragic death in a jacuzzi. The late actor’s mother Suzanne Morrison, his father John Bennett Perry, and his stepfather, “Dateline” correspondent Keith Morrison, visibly displayed their emotions as they approached the house where Matthew passed away.
According to TMZ, emergency responders were called to Perry’s residence after receiving a report of cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, Perry drowned in the jacuzzi, though no drugs were found at the scene. TMZ obtained audio of the dispatch call, but not the actual 911 call, detailing the arrival of first responders at the house.
In a rather eerie coincidence, just days before his death, Matthew posted a photo of himself in a jacuzzi overlooking city lights, accompanied by the caption “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.”
The actor’s parents divorced when he was a young boy, and his mother subsequently married Keith Morrison in 1981. In his memoir, Matthew dedicates a significant portion to his upbringing and the challenges he faced as a child of divorced parents.
Despite the divorce, Matthew maintained a connection with his biological father, John, who is also an actor. John even made an appearance on an episode of “Friends” during its run. Notably, John is recognized as the Old Spice sailor from the popular commercials.
While Matthew and John may not have been exceptionally close, they were together as recently as this month. In fact, Matthew shared a photo with the caption “Here is me and my father John, both holding a beverage.” It’s worth noting that the beverage in question was soda.
