**Uninvited to Halloween and More: Britain’s Most Tattooed Mom’s Story**

With Halloween festivities just around the corner, many are gearing up to attend spooky parties and embrace the spirit of the season. However, for Melissa Sloan, a 46-year-old mother of seven from Powys, Wales, this season of celebration comes with a unique set of challenges. Melissa, who boasts an impressive 800 tattoos spread across her body, finds herself shunned from spooky-themed parties and other social events due to her unconventional appearance.

The hurdles Melissa faces extend beyond Halloween. She has been previously barred from attending her child’s nativity play and is usually excluded from Christmas parties. Despite these setbacks, Melissa maintains a sense of humor about her situation, joking about disguising herself with a Freddy Krueger mask to avoid causing discomfort to others.

Melissa, who has seven children, said that since having 800 tattoos she has not been invited to any spooky themed parties to celebrate Halloween

In addition to social occasions, Melissa’s appearance has made it challenging for her to find a driving instructor willing to provide lessons. One instructor attempted to help but was quickly frightened off after their first lesson. Melissa acknowledges that her initial appearance can startle strangers.

Unemployment has been another consequence of her extreme body art. Her tattoos include a depiction of the notorious Kray twins, who terrorized London’s East End. This may be one of the factors deterring potential employers.

Nonetheless, Melissa remains undeterred and is on a mission to challenge people’s assumptions about her. She aspires to become a solicitor, determined to show that her appearance does not define her abilities.

While pursuing her career goals, Melissa also harbors a desire to expand her family. She is eager to have an eighth child with her partner, Luke, and their children’s persistent pleas for a new sibling have rekindled her enthusiasm for pregnancy. Despite the potential health risks associated with a pregnancy at the age of 46, Melissa maintains an optimistic outlook.

But while she can't find a job, she is keen to try for an eighth child with her partner Luke to complete her already huge family

It’s worth noting that her newborn child, like many others, won’t ever see her unadorned face, fully covered in ink. Melissa, who got her first tattoo in her 20s, reveals that her extensive body art serves as a way to conceal the “emotional scars” stemming from her past experiences with sexual abuse at the hands of her paedophile brother.
